Whisker: Cat Translator

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This policy covers the Whisker: Cat Translator iOS app and its widget. Whisker is published by PowerStack Labs, operated by Gökhan Aksoy ("we", "us"). Contact: support@powerstacklabs.io. Our company-wide policy is at powerstacklabs.io/privacy; where the two differ, this one governs Whisker.

The short version. Whisker has no account, no server of ours, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Sound and photos are analysed on your iPhone and never uploaded. Your cat's name and mood diary stay on your device. We receive nothing.

1. What we collect

Nothing. No data about you or your cat is sent to us or to anyone acting for us.

DataWhere it livesWhy
Microphone audio
A short clip (up to 6 seconds) of your cat, or of your voice on the Speak screen.
Processed on your device by Apple's built-in sound recogniser. The temporary file is deleted as soon as the analysis finishes. To check a cat is really there and read the sound.
Photos you choose
Only a photo you pick yourself on the Body screen.
Checked on your device by Apple's Vision framework to confirm it shows a cat. Kept in memory only while you use it; never saved by Whisker or uploaded. To put your cat on the share card.
Cat profile and diary
Your cat's name, chosen personality, and the list of past translations.
On your device only, in standard app storage, and included in your own iPhone backup. So your diary and settings survive closing the app.
Widget snapshot
The latest mood and phrase.
Shared on your device between the app and its widget (an App Group). Never leaves the device. So the widget can show it.

Whisker asks for microphone access and uses the photo picker, which only gives the app the photo you select. You can revoke microphone access at any time in Settings → Whisker.

2. Who else is involved

We never sell or share personal information, because we don't have any.

3. Your rights

4. Children

Whisker is a general-audience app and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Subscriptions require an Apple ID and are subject to Apple's parental controls.

5. Changes

If a future version ever sends data off your device — for example, crash reports — we will update this policy and the date above before that version ships.
